Since June of 2007, Ambrose L. Sims has held the position of Parish Manager, West Feliciana Parish. In this capacity, Mr. Sims has the responsibility of managing the operations of the parish consisting of road and bridge maintenance, water utility, parks and recreation, planning and zoning, and maintaining all parish facilities. In addition, he has the responsibility of overseeing the finance, budgeting and accounting activities for the parish. Prior to being named the parish manager for West Feliciana Parish, Mr. Sims has 32 years of corporate experience. Possessing over 23 years in executive and management capacity, he has worked for six Fortune 100 companies consisting of IBM Business Consulting Services (BCS), PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), British Petroleum Corporation (Bp), Amoco Business Services, Occidental Petroleum Corporation and Cities Service Company. Most recently, Mr. Sims held the position of Service Delivery Executive Infrastructure, IBM BCS, a subsidiary involved in business process outsourcing. In this capacity, he was responsible for Data Center operations, connectivity, back office hardware procurement and support, desk side support, and telephony for North and South America operations. In addition, Mr. Sims was responsible for establishing all new outsourced office locations and oversight of existing office operations and support in Tulsa, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas and Calgary, Canada. While employed by PwC, he held the position of Senior Manager of Infrastructure Support. The primary responsibilities in this position entailed desk side support, including imaging and PC software support, Microsoft Office installation and support, PC procurement and upgrades, financial forecasting and analysis of infrastructure costs, new office set up and support and overall management of four office locations. With over 22 years of experience in oil and gas exploration and production, Mr. Sims held various accounting and finance related positions. As Director of Asset Acquisitions and Divestitures for British Petroleum domestic operations, he managed the acquisition of or the divestiture of over $20 billion in assets. He served in several capacities with Amoco Business Services, including senior manager positions in Revenue Accounting for the Southern, West Texas and Gulf of Mexico business units and tax and regulatory reporting for the entire domestic operations, Asset Sales and Acquisitions for all domestic operations and Downstream (Marketing) Accounting for all of the United States. His career started with Cities Service Company where he served as Assistant to the Vice President of International Exploration and Production for Europe/Africa/Middle East and Asia Australasia responsible for financial and operational oversight and presentation of financial and operational performance to executive management. He also held numerous other positions including Manager of Planning and Evaluation for all international operations. A graduate of Louisiana State University, he has served on the Board of Directors for Tulsa River Parks Authority, The Salvation Army, Tulsa Red Cross, Park Friends and the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA).
